Whatever the history behind it, we have here a genuine SF movie with decent effects, a bit too much Matrix-fu (but that's entirely to be expected), some shoddy science about cloning that still leads to intriguing thoughts on the subject, and a decent Utopia/Dystopia struggle. Not four star material, but completely watchable nonetheless, even with the videogamesque portions. Many would enjoy it for the constant shots of Charlize in skintight black jumpsuits if nothing else.
