Iran, like Syria, will be a significantly harder scape goat for the U.S. to bully than Saddam Hussein's Iraq was. They are quite a bit more clever for one thing, and are capable of making the Bush Administration look like they are grasping for straws (which of course they are.)

Oh God, he really is throwing around the "potential Hitler" bullsh!t again too. Makes me sick to my stomach. I really thought the "four more wars" stuff was going to be hyperbole, but maybe not. Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Venezuela (?!)
I swear the Bush administration would attack Quebec if they thought it would drive up the price of oil some more and make them and their Saudi buddies some more cash. |

On the other hand, he's already over-extended in Iraq and the military routinely plans for all sorts of scenarios (including the assault on Quebec you reference).

An in depth New Yorker article which has some very scary stuff about the so called nuclear option. Chris is right about how the military is over extended in Iraq, which makes such insane things as nuking them that more tempting to the Pentagon, now doesn't it?

Those are tactical nukes being considered only by certain people in the planning process. Even if they did fall they'd just have the same result as a higher yield bunker buster. And for the political aspect I doubt he'd use them, the articles I've read have the higher-ups in the pentagon distancing themselves from that particular war plan.

Yikes, and now that's exactly what Iran has to say. Unfortunately, the oil barrons who rule our country only profit more if black gold becomes more scarce, so they don't exactly have an incentive not to mess things up even more than they have.
