Thanks.

Yikes, you do have electric lights though, right? You're going to really get caught up on reading, and might have to consider taking up painting as well.

Re: Update on life | ||

Electric lights, yes. And a well-stocked kitchen -- Jessica and I are more domestic than I realized -- a bed, and pretty much nothing else.
I'm at the family home right now. I should probably have internet access setup at the new place sometime this coming week, and then I can use Jess's laptop to visit the Territories. We now have chairs and a table, thanks to Ikea.

Re: Update on life | ||

Deanne loves Ikea though I have mixed feelings. Watch out for pine things that look nice, but break easily. Never buy a wood bed frame from them as I learned the hard (crunchy!) way.

Re: Update on life | ||

Yikes.
Jess and I are sleeping on a "rolly frame" from Sleepy's right now. It suits our purposes for now, and we also have the added benefit of being able to easily shift the layout of our sparsely furnished bedroom whenever we want. I have insane news for all of you, but let me confirm that it's really going to happen first before saying anything more.

I have two more weeks left before the wedding at the Empire State Building. So much nausea.

Hopefully you don't have any fear of heights or that's going to be pretty over the top. Also, we of course hope no giant gorillas show up and snatch away your bride...

Baby was born 9:15 PM, March 1st 2008. He must not have wanted to be a "leap baby" since he just waited to get past February 29th, to state busing out!

Re: Update on life | ||

Well, little Lennon's first week on Earth was not all any of us had expected. He had some sort of infection that put his life at risk, now under control, and we've been living at the hospital for half of his life so far (5 out of 10 days roughly). Seeing as tomorrow marks his original due date, perhaps he hurried out a bit too soon (though he wasn't a technical preemie.)
He's such an angel, and we love him so much, which makes watching him putting up with all of the needles and worse shoved into him this week really, really, really hard. Especially on mom, but me too. |

Re: Update on life | ||

Yes, we're getting into normal baby household mode (except for the three times a day we pump medicine into his arm, but that will be over in a couple weeks now too).
I do recommend you and Jessica stave off your mother's inevitable urgings for a few years before you conceive. It's as big of a handful as everybody says, though it's completely worth it. Still, enjoy a few years of married life where you can go out together and stuff. Not that you said you were thinking different, but your relationship has been a pretty fast track. I take it you're back from honeymooning? How was everything?? |

Re: Update on life | ||

Yeah, that's good advice. We plan on enjoying our coupleship for at least a couple of more years. The idea of parenting is still absolutely terrifying to me.
We actually haven't gone on our honeymoon yet because we won the contest to get married on such short notice. For now, we're planning on going to Taiwan for two weeks in June. Deanne and I haven't slept together in many days. It's o.k., because we know it's temporary, but you have to be ready for that kind of sacrifice.

Re: Update on life | ||

After a week of suffering, I am starting to recover from the very worst cold that I've had in years. Ever since I moved in with Jessica back in October, I've been without active infection. This cold really kicked the @#%$ out of me. I don't feel like myself anymore.
