Well, it's your board in the end, and if you don't wish to keep paying for it, I can't say I don't understand. I did sign up for Pownce from Chris's invite, but I fear it isn't the type of place I'd naturally find myself drifting towards necessarily. I actually prefer message boards to all these social networking sites, though I use both to some degree. I'm kind of in the waiting to see what happens mode.

It looks like it'll eventually become more and more like IM. I really think of this as our board in every way, seriously, all that emoticon-hunting aside. But I am just turned off by the idea of any of us having to keep paying money for this when there are better (free) options. It's hard, though. I'll contribute my usual $10 if you renew, but can't blame you for not shouldering that. I'm obviously way more active on Flickr and the Science Fiction board at this point. We lost Rob due to EZ Board Yuku translation issues, which is pretty lame, and makes giving them more money, more annoying. There are so few people here. And of course if you're using Firefox with adblock then all you lose is the emoticons. But in your case, that's quite a lot.

I tried reinstalling everything too!

Meanwhile, the Science Fiction board I help admin is pretty active, because, we keep it focused (though pretty active really means 5-6 regulars at any time.) Perhaps if one of the forums was turned over to a popular culture topic, say Desperate Housewives or Lindsay Lohan... We'll contribute $10 as soon as we have that in our bank account. What's the exact deadline?

My trip was amazing. Tokyo was everything I expected it to be and much more. In some ways, it was probably the best trip I ever had. I'll have pictures and actual explanation up soon. I guess the internet is just getting to be an ad zone period. We were running adblock on Firefox, but unfortunately it started blocking other vital content, and I had to take it down. At least we're still banner free here, for the moment...
