I'm not sure I have the commitment to start one of those daily "photoblogs" just yet, so this is a test run more than anything else. That said, I didn't actually take any pictures today so I'm gonna kinda break the deal with the first pic by posting one I took a week ago. New pics starting tomorrow. As someone with an enormous monitor, it's really hard for me to find wallpapers that fit, so, yeah, kickass site in my book. Filled up my digital cam's card, and killed at least one 35mm roll. The old Police Department building, near Chinatown. Considered a historical landmark, this 19th century building has since been converted into a tres chic apartment building. A shot from my favorite alleyway in Chinatown. I forget the name of the street. A couple of boats moored on the docks by Battery City Park. I was visiting my old high school for the first real time since I started college. Macro of another one of my mum's flowers in the front yard. Now, I'm a serious purist when it comes to picture-taking -- I follow a strict no-Photoshop rule; if it sucks, throw it out, and take another picture. But I really wanted to see what this one would look like without a background (seeing as how I don't have the resources to build my own light studio at this point in time). I saw absolutely nothing of note. Today, Jarrad-man and I went on another one of our photo runs -- this time, we headed out to mouth of the Manhattan Bridge situated on one of the busier fringes of Chinatown. The Manhattan-side approach to the bridge features the largest triumphal arch in New York City (don't take my word on this one -- I have to fact-check it later because the Grand Army Plaza one in Brooklyn might be larger). Approaching the Manhattan Bridge. I wish I took this while a car was going up, so that you could get a better sense of scale.
