Sergio Mendes is a brilliant '60s Latin lounge musicians who led a mixed male and female vocal group who often covered contemporary psychedelic pop songs including "Day Tripper", "I Think I'm Going Out of My Head" and "Scarborough Fair". Often, their versions are a bit trippier than the original. "Mas Que Nada" is their own pop gem with a decidedly Brazilian Mambo swing to it.

Frou Frou's new CD. Nope, I don't know how to pronounce it, so I can't even ask anyone if they've heard of her. I love the album but the only setback is that it's too short - only about 45 minutes. Arg.

currently listening to Ornette Coleman's Forms and Sounds album, the last track "Space Flight" played by the Chamber Symphony of Philadelphia String Quartet.
MusicĀ for Airports is correct. It was subtitled Ambient One and is critically recognized as the album with which he created the genre of Ambient Music. Eno, along with Sun Ra, Sonic Youth, and John Cage is among my biggest influences. |

Oh! I've been listening to that Frou Frou song "Breathe In". It's on a smapler cd I have. So smooth, so chill, but not boring.

I'm listening to an album called Caroline Now! the Music of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys.
It's a tribute, but an odd one because they intentionally picked lesser known songs instead of classic hits. This track is by an electro-pop group called Camping doing "Busy Doing Nothing." |

Bleu. He opened for Puffy Ami Yumi this summer. I was impressed. "I Won't Go Hollywood" and "Somebody Else" are so damn catchy.
